A Software Developer at NCSA will be responsible for all elements of a J2EE Application, from the creation of database tables and queries, to the front end design of web pages. Developers will also be expected to thoroughly test their own work to ensure high quality. The technologies necessary are as follows:

Expert Level Needed
Core Java
Microsoft SQL Server 2008
General Database Design and Normalization
Intermediate Knowledge Required

What Do We Do Here?
The software development team is primarily responsible for building a web based system for helping high school athletes and their families run their own college recruiting process. The members of the development team are responsible for the following:

Develop new software to help our user base manage their recruiting process
Build and manage the SQL Server database
Create tables, keys, and indexes
Create and maintain stored procedures
Help debug and solve defects as the present themselves as well as working through the existing backlog
Work with Product Owners and the rest of the team in defining the vision for NCSA’s web presence and moving it forward
Test Driven Development methodologies
How Do We Do it?
The software team at NCSA is a flexible Agile team that is heavily involved in all aspects of the product development. Our team members have input into the hardware purchased, release cycle planning, application server planning, training, etc. Developers are encouraged to bring up ideas for furthering the team goals and are given time to work on ideas of their own.

General Requirements:

Minimum 7 years experience in technologies mentioned above
Excellent written and oral English communication skills
Excellent knowledge of SQL and database transactions
Bachelors Degree from an Accredited University in Computer Science or a Related Field
Excellent knowledge of System Development Life Cycle
