A well established U.S. based non-profit charity organization just set up a Hong Kong office. Our main mission is to enhance the education in China by building and donating Elementary Schools in rural and poors areas in China, as well as offering Scholarship to different University Students in China. Once you complete our thorough orientation program, you will quickly become proficient in delivering Disney English content. Currently, we have the following positions available:
Very Young Learner Trainer: 2+ years experience, specifically with children 2-4 years of age

Primary Responsibilities:
-Become proficient in delivering the Disney English interactive content and comprehensive classroom/home delivery of Disney English including the “on-line” parent portal.
-Use scripted printed materials, multimedia and a variety of audio-visual aids. There is emphasis on dialogue, story-telling, singing and role-playing, but more formal exercises, language games and literature are also used.
-Work with local Assistant Trainers to ensure classes are run efficiently and start and end as scheduled.
-Prepare lessons, realia, print materials, technology and supplemental materials prior to the start of each class.
-Attend weekly meetings with the LLD to communicate all pertinent student and classroom management issues.
-Participate in outside of classroom academic, marketing and Center social events as needed
-Collect audio & visual portfolio evidence of language learner work during lessons.
-Provide private lessons to young language learners as required due to learner absences or for students that are falling behind the class.
-Deliver both formal and informal assessments and progress reports throughout the program and keep close oversight on all learner records.
-Interact with both parents and young language learners in a way that makes language learning fun, engaging and educational.
-With local Assistant Trainers, maintain strong communication with parents as to their children’s progress by means of the Teacher/Parent portal and ongoing communication during performances, phone calls and parent/teacher conferences

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Candidates should have 2 or more years experience post-graduate experience teaching young learners
- Candidates should be native English speakers, with a North American or similar dialect
-Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification (will be provided by Disney English if necessary)

The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme (YEPP)

The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme (YEPP) is a multi-layer initiative of a consortium of European and US foundations and the International Academy at the Free University of Berlin, Institute for Community Education (INA gGmbH) operating under the auspices of the Network of European Foundations. INA is responsible for the programme development and the implementation; and hosts the Programme Director and Team along with the International Resource Centre.

The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme was started by a group of foundations in 2000. The preparatory phase lasted until May 2001, followed by the first phase of implementation, evaluation and assessment from September 2001 until the end of 2006. During this time YEPP worked in 7 Local Sites in 6 countries.
Phase II of YEPP covers the period from 2007 to 2011. During this time YEPP has expanded to 19 Local Sites in 8 countries. In 2008 YEPP’s goals were refined to include youth empowerment, partnership and advocacy. Both empowerment and partnership are intrinsic aspects of YEPP, therefore the final years of YEPP Phase II have a stronger focus on Advocacy at a local, regional, national and transnational level.

Job purpose

The purpose of the post is:

1) to assist YEPP in developing a strategy for the dissemination of YEPP’s 10 years’ work results. This will highlight the achievements of the programme over the whole period and look into best practices of local and transnational cooperation including those of the funding partners. The goal of this strategy is to influence politicians and decision makers at the European, national, regional and local levels with regard to youth and community related policies to mainstream best practices of youth involvement in the decision making processes.

2) to engage in the process of sustaining a future perspective of YEPP in
consultation with all stakeholders involved in developing a future transnational perspective of YEPP beyond 2011.

Tasks:

• To contribute to the development and implementation of a dissemination strategy of YEPP results
• To establish and follow up on contacts at the European (EU) level for presentation and discussion of YEPP results
• To develop an advocacy strategy to target different audiences, in particular decision-makers at local, regional, national and European level
• To write, contribute to and assist the Programme Team in presenting YEPP within a transnational context
• To join in the process of developing a future transnational model of YEPP
• Other tasks as appropriate under the direction of the Programme Director

Personal Specification:
• Native English Speaker with a good command of German
• At least three years of relevant work experience, including the experience of coordinating and contributing to the production of reports and policy papers
• Experience of working in an international environment
• A knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions

I. DEPORTATION DEFENSE
