Release Engineer – Team Lead in chico USA

This job reports to the Product Delivery Manager
Relocation is not provided and travel is not required.
This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Overview
The Release Engineer Team Lead will be responsible for all software source code, change control, configuration management, and build and deployment processes in a distributed Windows and UNIX heterogeneous environment. The successful candidate is able to: coordinate build schedules between teams; develop, improve, and document build processes and procedures; demonstrate a strong understanding of the software development life cycle, programming concepts, and quality product delivery processes; provide strong team centric leadership; and provide exceptional service to customers.

Job Requirements
Lead the Release Engineering team to organize day to day testing activities and assignments on various projects to ensure timely delivery and high product quality.
Provide status reporting on projects and resources to manager on a regular basis.
Assist in developing quality processes and controls.
Provide mentorship to junior team members.
Perform staff evaluations and develop goals for individuals
This is a hands-on position with 50% of time going towards leadership and 50% towards Release Engineering testing activities.
Architect tools to run and monitor an optimized, parallel, nightly, and on-demand build and deployment system across multiple development branches in multiple environments. These tools are instrumental in enabling automated deployment of selected builds across multiple servers, while maximizing availability and minimizing build times
Strategize on best practices for ongoing parallel development, with an emphasis on branching, merging, and common library management
Perform program and system analysis, provide technical consultation and propose solutions
Manage build communication channels and document build procedures
Develop, Design and test complex program logic
Research, design and develop tools to facilitate customer software upgrades
Develop clear understandable process and installation documents for new products
Maintain system datasets, schema notation, ER diagrams, and supporting documents
Job Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education required field
2 to 3 years Software Configuration Management / Release Engineering
Experiencing leading software development teams
Ability to coordinate between cross-functional teams, and be well organized
Experience in software installation technologies, e.g. Nullsoft, or InstallShield
Experience with software technologies e.g. Java, Java Script, HTML, PL/SQL, MS Build, MAKE, and UNIX shell scripting
Experience with source code control tools, e.g. MS Team Foundation Server (TFS), VSS, and/or Subversion
Experience with Windows continuous integration build systems, e.g. Cruise Control, MS MTS Server
Experience with database systems required: SQL, Oracle, and/or SQL Server
Experience with administering Windows Servers, UNIX Servers, and IIS
Knowledge of Agile SDLC, software configuration management practices, release management methodologies, and production deployment
